Last week the VBoss team pulled off an amazing syndicated live pay-per-view broadcast event for QStream Internet, a professional sports broadcaster based in Amersterdam. VBoss is typically used by enterprises as part of their “beyond the firewall” streaming strategy but occasionally a customer will ask us to stream an event for the purpose of monetizing live entertainment-based content. This event was the United Glory 11 – A Decade of Fights which was a professional kick boxing event.
VBoss operations received their first call about the event on late Monday afternoon and shipped a VBoss appliance from our Connecticut headquarters the next day. The customer received their appliance in Amerstam on Thursday and was streaming live on the Internet via VBoss within 15 minutes of unboxing the system! Their live PPV event was last weekend on Saturday night and it went off without a hitch. It was great that the VBoss team could pull of such an event on such short notice. Mutual confidence in the reliability of our products is what inspired all parties to move forward with this project.
The event started at seven pm and lasted for over five hours. The cost was 9.99 euro to watch. More than 500 paid to watch the video that was syndicated on two web sites via the VBoss syndication widget. This was a test of a model that QStream wants to repeat again on October 30th with another event (stay tuned). They will embed the video widget with integrated pay-per-view on their site and syndicate the VBoss widget to select partner sites as well.

Looks like Casella v. Schwartzberg.
