An update from Bryan Norcross of AEN: 300+ VBrick-powered sites!

aenThis morning I spoke with Bryan Norcross who is the CEO of America’s Emergency Network and a former on-air CBS hurricane analyst about the progress of using VBOSS technology for their solution to syndicate live video updates from the National Hurricane Center to media web sites with their partner WDT (Weather Decision Technologies).

We announced this ground breaking solution in August that combines their satellite-based emergency video distribution system with the unique VBOSS live video syndication platform.

Bryan said that over three hundred sites have signed up for their service. Eighty-eight have already installed their video player widget and have published live footage and archived updates. This has been a quiet hurricane season so far but the infrastructure is now in place so that in a time of crisis AEN will be able to distribute real-time live and on-demand video seamlessly to all of their subscribers.

I asked Bryan to talk about what is next and he talked about how other important sources of emergency information can be brought into this network with mobile wireless news gathering systems. He is working on a solution for this now.
